About Regenerative Medicine

What is regenerative medicine (cell therapy)?

Regenerative medicine (cell therapy) is a therapy in which one’s own cells are cultured outside the body for use in the treatment of diseases and injuries. It is attracting attention as a new treatment method for diseases for which no treatment methods existed in the past, and research is being conducted around the world. In human medicine, it is recognized as an advanced medical treatment by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and is already being used in clinical settings such as university hospitals and medical institutions.

Regenerative medicine is based on increasing the number of cells taken from the patient outside the body, adding physiologically active substances and scaffolds for cell growth, and transforming them into cells that meet the intended purpose (called differentiation) before transplanting them back into the patient.

We offer two types of treatment (culture method).

Cancer Immunotherapy
(CAT therapy, DC-CAT therapy, etc.)
Treatment mainly to control the progression of cancer or prolong life, in combination with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hyperthermia.
Stem Cell Therapy
(Bone marrow and Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell therapy)
Repair of fracture sites of bone fracture fusion failure and damaged sites of spinal cord injury. Healing effect on chronic arthritis and other conditions.

Veterinary hospitals that offer cancer immuno-cell therapy and stem cell therapy

Veterinary hospitals where treatment is available

Currently, there is an organization called the Japanese Society for Veterinary Regenerative Medicine, which is organized by veterinary doctors who provide immuno-cell therapy for cancer such as activated lymphocyte therapy and mesenchymal stem cell therapy. For more information on the details of the therapy and possible treatment methods, please contact a veterinarian at your nearest veterinary hospital who is a member of the Japanese Society for Veterinary Regenerative Medicine.
